Q. How do I find the numbers on a rusty or dirty bearing? A. When numbers are hard to see on any metal part, you can make them easier to see by using a pencil. Clean off as much dirt or loose rust as you can and then run the lead of the pencil over the part until the number appears. The pencil lead fills in the etched part of the number and makes it easier to read on any metal part.
